Debut
Today, December 16, marks the inaugural blog entry for this website. At the end of the calendar year, I will be retiring from my administrative duties in CUSA, an apostolate of persons with chronic illness or disability. The website for that apostolate also functioned as a way for me to share my various writings, homilies, and lectures with my friends and family. With the able help of my nephew, Ryan Jagdfeld, I am entering my years of "active" retirement with this website. I will continue to serve as the chaplain of the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart in Frankfort, Illinois, a group of very patient women who never cease to affirm and encourage me. Though my physical abilities continue to diminish, they never cease to accommodate my situation. During the past twenty-two months as the world dealt and continues to deal with the pandemic, I have been fortunate to live in this very safe space where not one single case of Covid 19 entered the convent.
I hope to spend time in the coming months and years (?) reading and writing, sharing my love for literature and the arts, and my passionate love for Sacred Scripture. This website with its pages for my homilies and for my blog, with pictures of my friends and family, and with a place for you to ask for prayers for a particular intention will allow me to continue to stay in contact with you.
